Background and Brief

This commission is for a Filmmaker to create a very short film aimed at young people aged 11-14 and their parents, especially those from our black and minority ethnic communities.

The purpose of the film is to give young people an inspirational quick look at the wide scope and range of careers in the film industry, how people access these jobs, what qualifications they might need and what they could earn in this industry.   It will need to engage and inform this age group and their parents.

There is funding to create a very short film, which should include content from interviews from people currently working in the film industry including black and minority ethnic industry professionals.  The Filmmaker will be supported in acquiring interviewees and cut away film and information about the industry to be edited into the film. We encourage applications from filmmakers from our black and minority ethnic communities.
