Catford Mews, Lewisham’s leading entertainment venue, are thrilled to be welcoming My Kibris Kitchen, a Turkish Cypriot food vendor, to its fantastic food court. Inspired by her Grandma’s home cooking, Reb started her business offering old school Turkish Cypriot food with her own special twist. The menu will include Cypriot style (kofte) meatballs, chips and flat bread, Meze box’s, Turkish tea and fresh homemade pistachio baklava.
With a love for everything foodie, including foodie films, Catford Mews was the perfect location to take the business! Following in her mother’s footsteps, who ran a greasy spoon cafe in the old Mews, Reb has opened up at Catford Mews, a location that offers a real community feel to it. Since its opening, Catford Mews has become Reb’s favourite hotspot in Catford; holding a special place in her heart due to its ties to her past.
Reb’s passion for food started at a very young age when she would visit Lewisham food market with her grandma. Starting her My Kibris Kitchen journey in 2017 as a pop up at Good Hope cafe in Hither Green, Reb then went on to join a great team of chefs at Oklava (Shoreditch) where she really expanded and grew her culinary knowledge. Reb’s favourite food is her nan’s Turkish roast which inspired many of her dishes today.
My Kirbris Kitchen will be joining Catford Mew’s huge variety of already existing food vendors. From fan favourites such as Twerk’n’Jerk, Two Dogs Down and Japanese inspired street food Fuse, to onsite café Compound Coffee, there is something for everyone!
Spearheading a revival of the Catford Centre, Catford Mews is a 14,000 sq ft venue providing a multi-screen cinema, live entertainment space for music and comedy, co-working areas and pop-up food market with local traders. The cinema is the first multi-screen in Lewisham in almost 20 years and all programming is done in house in partnership with the Independent Cinema Office (ICO), with extensive consultation with the local community to select films.
