The census is taking place on 21st March 2021
What is the Census?
The Census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. It helps plan and fund public services like transport, education, healthcare and housing.
Local councils, charities and many other organisations use Census information to decide how to spend billions of pounds on services each year. So to make sure this money is spent where it’s most needed in the community, it’s important that we all make the effort to complete the questionnaire so that the Census counts everyone.
You’ll start to see more information about Census 2021 over the coming weeks; all Lewisham residents will be asked to take part. Details will be provided on how to take part and there will also be local support to help you complete the survey. Completing the survey can be done either online or in a paper questionnaire.
In the meantime you can get further information by visiting the ONS website – http://www.census.gov.uk
