Meet the Lewisham Local team in our stall at the So Last Century Christmas Vintage Market

We’re excited to bring So Last Century Christmas Vintage Market at the Mansion back to Beckenham Place Park this December!

On the day there’ll be a stunning, hand picked selection of 20+ of the best vintage traders, in the Ground Floor rooms of the Mansion and outside as well. You can expect to find mid-century decor, lighting, furniture, homeware, vintage posters, prints, antique maps and charts, brocante, salvage, fashion, accessories and much more.

There’ll be delicious street food outside, including mouthwatering bao buns and noodles by You Bao, tasty burritos, tacos and quesadillas by Route 66, delicious kati rolls by Raastawala, plus excellent coffee by Beats & Grind and amazing brownies by Slate ‘n’ Crumb.

In addition, the excellent Basement Bar and Mansion Cafe will also be operating a take-away service.

Pop in to KnowHowYou Sewing School on the Ground Floor of the Mansion and see the various classes and courses they have to offer.

So put on your warmest coat and come along on 13 December for some Christmas present inspiration, an abundance of unique vintage things to buy, and explore and enjoy the beautiful park while you’re there!

Join Ignition Brewery outside the Taproom for their Saturday Christmas Markets

Join us outside the taproom on the 5th, 12th and 19th December between 1030 and 1230, where the team will be ready to furnish you with all your festive beer needs and help you make a real dent in the Christmas shopping with gift boxes, t-shirts, woolly hats, mugs and some surprises from local artists and artisans.

There may even be music, mince pies and something mulled!

Mulled wine and crafts at Corbett Christmas Craft Countdown

The Library team are thrilled to be going ahead with their annual Christmas Craft Fair, which is this year arranged over 3 dates in December in order to lower the number of people within the library at any one time.

Usually this event is heaving with lots of merry customers but, to keep everyone safe we are aiming for a more subdued, yet fun, affair with a lovely trickle of customers looking around the stalls whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine!

On each date in December we will host 6 local artists, designers and makers who will be selling their creative works such as jewellery, ceramics, tasty sweet treats and art work.

Do join them to support these artists, many of whom will have had a tough year with little or no markets to trade at. So don’t do all of your Christmas shopping online or panic buy your auntie some loo roll in the supermarket!

Save your Christmas shopping to do here at the library and bag yourself a bespoke treat, or three, made with love by somebody local. Shop local, and support small business.

Join Patchwork for their Virtual Christmas Fair

With Covid making it impossible for schools to run their usual Christmas fairs we’ve had over 250 PTAs across the country using Patchwork to set up virtual school fairs to bring their communities together and raise much-needed funds.

We’ve put together this page to show how it works with a little video and we’re waiving our usual 3.6% fee on funds received through our platform.

You can see the Virtual Christmas Fair template here:

Lamplight reflecting from gilded mirrors, sparkling costume jewellery, and in a cosy corner, a basket of 1970s cars nestles by boxes of coins and games; this is the festive scene set by Verso Vintage in residence in the basement of the Mansion.

We have offerings for budgets of all sizes, and visitors of all ages, with collectable goods ranging from pocket-money toys through to lamps, artwork, glassware and unusual jewellery.

All our items are vintage or pre-owned – reducing landfill and saving precious items to create more memories in their new homes.

Face coverings must be worn and Covid social distancing rules apply.

Fancy having the shop to yourself for a long browse? We’re happy to open on other days by appointment. Please TEXT 07549 601659 to book a slot.
