Choice Based Lettings
As a result of the unprecedented circumstances Housing Needs and Refugee Service have decided to move to direct matching of social housing to our vulnerable residents, with a particular focus on households who are sharing facilities, urgent safeguarding cases and emergency cases.
They have suspended choice based letting in Lewisham, so clients will not be able to bid for properties, nor will those officers who usually place bids on their behalf. At this time no further properties will be advertised through Homesearch.
The Emergency Housing Panel and hospital discharge processes remain in place. Information will be provided to those on the housing register regarding these changes via the Council website and the Homesearch website, but we encourage you to share the following message with your partners and contacts:
Updates will be provided via the Homesearch website as they are available: www.lewishamhomesearch.org.uk.
The 999 Club are adapting to the Covid-19 pandemic. They are currently working on housing all of their service users into hotels across London, you can read more about that here.

There is no longer a face-to-face service at Laurence House due to risks associated with COVID-19.
Anyone needing urgent housing advice should call the customer service centre on 020 8314 7007. The call centre will refer anyone homeless or at risk of homelessness to our housing solutions officers who will carry out a phone assessment of their circumstances.
The quickest way for partners to refer clients for support is through ALERT portal. If you are aware of anyone at risk please complete the referral form. Officers monitor the portal daily and urgent referrals will be prioritised for a same day response. Please note that the earlier the referral is made, the sooner we can contact and provide help.
