Children’s Commissioner
A dataset which explores the projected number of vulnerable children located by local authorities and at a constituency level. Head to our website to download the excel sheet which also contains London Plus analysis.  

Department for Education 
This statistical publication provides the number of schools and pupils in schools in England, using data from the January 2019 School Census, Independent School Census, General Hospital School Census and Alternative Provision Census. Breakdowns are given for school types as well as for pupil characteristics including free school meal eligibility, English as an additional language and ethnicity. This release also contains information about average class sizes. 

The GLA Community Response Surveys are a series of surveys which explore the ongoing impact of COVID-19 upon London’s civil society. 

National Youth Agency 
A 24 page report exploring the impact of COVID-19 upon vulnerable young people. 

Data which shows which areas are currently suffering the most from Covid-19, and those that have underlying factors—such as age, health and the economy—which may put them at risk. Head to our website to download an excel sheet containing London Plus analysis.  

Office for Civil Society 
The annual Loneliness Report explores loneliness at a societal level and identifies vulnerable populations. 

Race Equality Foundation 
A range of resources and information which explore the impact of COVID-19 on race, gender and mental health.

Simetrica-Jacobs and the London School of Economics 
The COVID-19 health pandemic is having a major impact on our lives. Very little is known, however, about the effects of the policy responses on people’s wellbeing. They estimate the wellbeing costs of COVID-19 and social distancing measures by looking at the impacts of the pandemic on the mental health and wellbeing of people in the UK between 9 and 19 April 2020 using a large survey with nationally representative quotas.

The Ubele Initiative
A report summarising the impact of COVID-19 on the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) organisations who deliver services to the BAME communities.

A weekly report series by UCL which explores the ongoing affects of COVID-19 on society, with emphasis on vulnerable individuals and groups including those with mental illness, chronic health conditions and the elderly. 

Demographic Resources

Cabinet Office 
The Community Life Survey is held annually to track trends and developments in areas that encourage social action and empower communities. 
At the National Data Store, you can find data published by central government, local authorities and public bodies to help you build products and services.

There is also the London Data Store, with data specific to the capital. London Plus have created a guide to help you navigate the data store. 

As part of this the London Borough Profiles help paint a general picture of an area by presenting a range of headline indicator data in both spreadsheet and map form to help show statistics covering demographic, economic, social and environmental datasets for each borough, alongside relevant comparator areas. The London Borough Atlas does the same but provides further detailed breakdowns and time-series data for each borough.

Migration Observatory 
A summary of the findings of research commissioned by the funder network Migration Exchange to review the UK migration and refugee sector’s infrastructure and resources, with a focus on contributing to social change following COVID-19. 

ONS Mortality Rate for England and Wales, with data for London featured as an epicentre. Includes an interactive mapping tool.

Food Foundation 
The impact of Coronavirus on food. From an online survey of 4343 adults in Great Britain conducted on 7th-9th April. 

Trust for London 

London’s Poverty Profile (LPP) provides evidence on and insight into poverty and inequality in London. The LPP is divided into five themes: People, Living Standards, Housing, Work, Worklessness and Benefits, and Shared Opportunities.

A government report which measures the impact of COVID on the charitable sector. 

What Works Centre for Wellbeing 
You’ll find this guide useful if you:
1) work for a small or medium-sized charity or social enterprise and want to understand if and how your activities affect the wellbeing of the people you support
2) are responsible for reporting, evaluation or impact
3) have not measured wellbeing very much or at all yet and need some more information and guidance on how to get started.
