Community Christmas meal in Forest Hill
On Thursday, 12th December The Sylvan Post in Forest Hill (one of the chain of Antic Pubs) kindly hosted a FREE Community Christmas meal. Local older adults and groups were invited to join in a delicious, three course festive meal bringing the community together and giving local people an opportunity to socialise and meet new people.
25 people came together – consisting of local pub regulars alongside members of the Rushey Green Time Bank, Ageing Well in Lewisham, The Lewisham Pensioners Forum and Headlines; a Ewart Community Hall group. Christmas crackers were pulled, bad jokes told and Christmas carols sung – in fact we were lucky to have members from Out of Time (the Rushey Green Time Bank choir) and also The St. Christopher’s Choir present to lead a sing, song after the last mince pie was finished.
A huge thank you to the lovely staff at The Sylvan Post who ensured a fun time was had by all – particular thanks go to Robert & Adacia!
