What are trustees?
Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charities work.
Trustee Recruitment Event
It can be difficult for small charities to recruit enough trustees with the skills, drive and commitment needed. At our recent ‘Get on Board – Trustee Recruitment Event’, we introduced some very enthusiastic potential trustees to equally enthusiastic charities who were keen to recruit people to their boards. The Trustee Recruitment Event featured a 3-minute pitch from 6 local charities, these were: Ageing Well in Lewisham, Disabled People’s Contact, Lewisham Nexus Services, Lewisham Pensioners Forum, Lewisham Speaking Up and Sydenham Arts – this was followed by a networking session where potential trustees and charities connected.
What Participants said about the Event….
“It was good to see a variety of local charities’
“I learnt about local charities, that I had no idea existed’
“This event helped me gain a better understanding of what a trustee is”
