Lee Green Community Centre is reopening after several months of closure during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Having done a Risk Assessment and prepared Guidance for the running of activities and services, they are now holding a “Welcome Day” for session leaders and volunteers to meet and see what’s involved, and enjoy a few refreshments together.
The Welcome Day will be held on Wednesday 26 August at the community centre, Unit 3, Leegate, SE12 8SS.
Because of limits on numbers, there are two sessions – 11am – 1pm and 2 – 4pm. Session leaders will be on hand to talk about how they plan to run their services and activities within the new guidelines.
The Day is for anyone who wants to support in a planned range of activities and services for people who want to make new friends, learn new skills or need support, advice, or information – everything from healthy exercises or sociable tea-and-chat to computer, sewing or literacy classes, to advice on benefits, housing and other issues.
It is without pre-commitment, so you shouldn’t feel obliged to work with the community centre, come if you simply want to find out more about how and whether you can help.
It would help greatly if you could let Lee Green Lives know which of the sessions would be most convenient for you to attend. That way, they can manage numbers better in these socially-distancing times. Please remember, if possible, to bring a face mask.
