Lewisham Parent and Carer’s Forum (LPCF) are a registered charity. We are a group of parent carers who have children or young people under the age of 25 years with a disability or additional need, living in the Borough of Lewisham.
The aim of the Parent Forum is to try and get the best services for our children, working with the local authority, health and social care, voluntary organisations and universal services.
Lewisham Parent and Carer’s Forum encourage engagement and participation from parents and carers to be the voice of their child.
Membership is free and a consent forms needs to be completed to enable us to contact parents/carers.
We provide information on the SEND Reforms, regular newsletters, activities, events and workshops. We do this via email, post, Facebook, and our website, to families of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
We ask that parents/carers participate in consultations with Lewisham Local Autority, Health and Social Care, service providers and universal services to ensure they receive feedback on the services that they are providing to young people.
We are a registered charity and we have our policies in place. We have lived experience of having a child or children with disabilities and additional needs and have a vast amount of knowledge between us all. We signpost to other services and offer support and understanding to other parents.
