Forest Hill Library has changed from being a council-run library to a community model library. Your library membership has not changed, your book-borrowing rights will not change and there will be little or no impact on the way books are reserved, borrowed or returned. The Library still benefits from access to over a quarter of a million books owned by Lewisham Libraries, and a network of over five million books in the wider London system.
We are still in a period of transition and probably will be for the remainder of 2016. We hope to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible, with Lewisham council officials making it clear that a high level of support and training will be available. There will be a gradual phasing from Lewisham Council staff to volunteers and even after that process is complete, there will still be plenty of visits from fully qualified librarians within the Lewisham Community Libraries network.
