Lewisham Shopping Centre announces ‘Refill Me’ initiative

Lewisham Shopping Centre has unveiled a new green initiative, Refill Me, which allows guests to easily identify where reusable water bottles can be refilled with no obligation to purchase. Since the campaign launched recently, a total of five shops at Lewisham Shopping Centre have signed up to take part.

As part of Lewisham Shopping Centre’s ongoing sustainability efforts and in a bid to cut single-use plastic consumption, visitors can now fill up their water bottle for free at any retailer displaying a Refill Me sticker in its window.

Visitors can pop in and fill their bottles with cold tap water with zero obligation to make a purchase from the retailer.

Lewisham Shopping Centre brands signed up to the Refill Me initiative include Costa Coffee, Starbucks, M&S Café, Muffin Break and Greggs.

Paul Redden, General Manager at Lewisham Shopping Centre, said: “Refill Me is a brilliant way of reducing the amount of waste we produce from single-use plastics. We’re really excited to be able to offer our guests a more sustainable shopping experience when they visit us.”

Lewisham Shopping Centre is owned and managed by Landsec, which is rolling the Refill Me programme out across all its centres nationwide.
