Brockley Max is a nine-day community arts festival celebrating local talent. It takes place in lots of different venues across Brockley, Ladywell, Crofton Park and Honor Oak and is a non-profit festival that everyone can attend and be part of. Brockley Max is held the first week in June each year. The Opening Night will take place on the first Friday of the festival from 4pm to 10.30pm by Brockley station and features live bands, singers and dance performances. This vibrant, open-air concert, with an audience of over 600, always gets the party started!
Manor House Gardens Festival is a annual summer party in this beautiful setting. Our goal is to celebrate the local community and as much as possible our food, drink, music, craft stalls and fun is provided by local businesses.
The Friends hosts Blythe Hill Fields Festival annually on the first weekend of July. It’s their most popular event of the year, celebrating local life in all the park’s surrounding neighbourhoods. They welcome an array of fantastic small businesses and organisations to join us on the hill, with street food (and drink), performing talent, boutique stalls, arts and crafts, and amusements all in abundance!
People’s Day is south east London’s longest-running free festival. It is a celebration of music, art, craft and community, which attracts more than 25,000 visitors. People’s Day will take place on 11 July 2020 in Mountsfield Park, Catford from 12 noon to 8pm. Now in its 35th year, People’s Day is a showcase for hundreds of performers as well as craft, business and community stalls, and a great selection of food and drink.
Sydenham Arts Festival is an annual celebration of music, theatre, dance, art, film, spoken word, outdoor and family events – taking place in venues both familiar and unusual in and around Sydenham for two weeks every July. It transforms non-conventional spaces into performance and exhibition venues: Pubs, churches, halls, parks, shops, libraries, schools and the high street. And more than half of its events every year are completely FREE!
The ever popular midsummer fayre will be on Saturday 20th June, from midday until 5pm. The Friends of Hilly Fields will be there, where you can test your knowledge of Hilly Fields on our annual quiz, buy one of our tote bags and come and see how you can be involved in keeping the park such a beautiful place. It is organised by the Brockley Society This event only happens because of a tremendous team effort with lots of volunteers. So don’t be shy information below.
Summer Festivals:
Catford Film are a community group screening monthly events locally, and have ambitions to expand their events calendar with Catfords first free film festival. The actual event will last for several days, with an opening and closing gala screening, and several locally hosted screenings at open spaces, bars and restaurants in-between.
There are many exciting opportunities to screen cult films, independent shorts, and blockbuster favourites to our diverse community, and celebrate our differences through a common interest in film.
