Spark2Life are a community-inspired initiative that empowers and advocates for offenders, and those at risk of offending. They are looking for Mentors who can support their Community Mentoring project as volunteers.
The Community Mentoring project promotes social cohesion by connecting young people with a diverse range of passionate volunteers from the community. Spark2Life Community Mentors are Volunteer Mentors that support young people aged 11-16 as part of their prevention strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with children from various backgrounds to help them achieve their full potential and develop into future leaders. They particularly welcome applicants with a wide range of life experiences, education and from diverse backgrounds, with links to local BAME communities.
They are looking for Volunteers who are passionate about investing in the local community. People who can commit to 1.5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months between 9:00- 15:30 with a young person. Mentors are not expected to have mentoring experience, but a willingness to learn, be constant and creative in engaging with the young people.
Mentors will go through Spark2life’s AQA accredited, Trauma Aware, Holistic Mentoring Training. The training runs for 8 weeks, 1 night a week and lasts between 2-3 hours.
