Fundraising support updates

Fundraising support updates

From April 2026, community support in Lewisham will be delivered in a new, more local, neighbourhood‑focused way. Lewisham Council has awarded funding for the 2026–2029 Main Grants Programme to the following organisations:

  • Age UK Lewisham & Southwark / Community Connections Lewisham
  • Lewisham Local
  • Lewisham Irish Centre
  • Bear Church
  • St Luke’s & St Mark’s
  • Ignition Brewery

What this means for residents:

  • Community Connections Lewisham will run the borough‑wide Front Door service and provide Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) Key Worker support, helping residents find the right services quickly.
  • Neighbourhood Community Hubs will be based at:
    • Lewisham Irish Centre
    • Bear Church
    • St Luke’s & St Mark’s
    • Ignition Brewery
These will offer local information, signposting, social connection and community support.
  • Lewisham Local will support community groups with capacity‑building, fundraising help, bid‑writing and small grants. This will be in the hubs above and elsewhere. St Luke’s & St Mark’s will provide extra support in the South neighbourhood.

Why things are changing

Lewisham Council redesigned the programme to make support:

  • Easier to access close to home
  • More consistent across the borough
  • Better joined‑up between community organisations, GPs, health teams and the council

Next steps

These new services launch April 2026. More information on how to access them will be shared closer to that date.
