AFRIL’s mission is to provide the support and services to enable refugees to help themselves.
Over the past week they have remodelled all their services to reduce social contact while ensuring that the most vulnerable get what they need: cash grants, delivery of food parcels, provision of advice and support over the telephone and online. The Education Coordinator has also sent out education packs to all the refugee and migrant children that attend their supplementary school.
They are looking at innovative ways of keeping project partners, volunteers and clients in touch to ensure positivity and mental wellbeing, and are ready to start up again as soon as restrictions are lifted.
As a community and client focused organisation, AFIL are committed to remaining open, and being flexible and imaginative in their service provision. We now are working with Lewisham Local to send food parcel deliveries to those clients who are unable to get out to purchase food.
They continue to support other clients with financial payments and are asking you, as members of our community, to support us in this.
