Lee Greens is one of Business Members at Lewisham Local, they are a not for profit veg bag scheme run by enthusiastic, vegetable-loving people living throughout the Lewisham borough. They provide local people with affordable seasonal, organic vegetables from small local farms – they believe in eating great fresh food that supports local trade and minimises food miles. Community is at the centre of what they do: small local businesses serve as pick-up points for their produce because they believe in what we do, and they build strong relationships with local farmers so that we can support one another in the long term.
They are an accredited Better Food Trader, demonstrating our firm commitment to ethical principles.

Volunteer Advert:
Lee Greens is a non-for-profit community business. We provide fresh organic vegetables for people in the local area. Our ethos is to support farmers, who farm sustainably, by providing them a fair price for their produce.
We are looking for volunteers to work as part of a team packing veg into bags for our customers. Packing vegetables is a great way to meet other people in the community and have a chat as you go.
Thursday mornings from 8:30am – 11.30am at the Leegate centre. We run a rota so volunteers can pack when they are available.
No experience needed. Full training and support provided.
We also need volunteers to help with the delivery team between 11.30am and 3.30pm. Driving is not a requirement but the volunteers need to be able to carry a few bags of veg. There is an opportunity for paid work for a driver.
As a thank you, volunteers get a share of any surplus veg to take home.
