About your organisation/community group?
Ordrs has been active over the past year, it is an online platform that allows people to shop from a range of local Lewisham stores and get their groceries delivered on the same day. We have recently grown more partnerships in the Lewisham area and due to the lockdown have become even more important.
Our core values are ethics, environment, efficiency and excellence. We are on a mission to put the high street online and set an example to the grocery delivery space – showing them that it is possible to be ethical as well as sustainable. We will ensure that our employees are paid fairly and everybody we collaborate with is treated right. We will eventually own a fleet of only eco-friendly transport as our team believes in playing our part to preserve the world for future generations.
How you have refocused your work/services during Covid-19?
The need for a service like Ordrs has grown so we have made more local high street partnerships and are still looking to expand. To ensure that personal shoppers are safe, we provide them PPE which includes facemasks and hand sanitisers. We have also identified that COVID-19 has led to great financial problems for certain individuals so have donated some of our profits to food banks.
Do you require any support from Lewisham Local? e.g recruiting volunteers
We are looking to connect with more local high street stores and serve more vulnerable people in the borough of Lewisham, who need us the most.
Do you have any good news stories to share?
We have managed to make three high street partners during the lockdown and have been helping them conduct deliveries safely to their customers – many of whom are vulnerable.
