Are you interested in working with young people to develop innovative ideas, bring people together and make a difference? Join Lewisham Local and Lewisham Young Mayor’s Team in an exciting pilot project to support the young people of Lewisham.
‘Bank of Things’ (BOT) is a new idea that has been developed by and for young people in Lewisham. It will be a project that engages young people to get involved and volunteer as well as meet their needs. BOT will be a resource bank for young people who need access to free equipment for school and other necessities needed to take a full and active role in their education and in society. These items will include stationery, sports and arts equipment, toiletries and more. Public donations will contribute to the re-use of objects by young people, encouraging recycling.
You will be involved in launching and developing the pilot project so that there is a consistent presence and service for young people in the borough. Working with young people as well as partners such as community groups, businesses and the local authority, you will develop systems and relationships to enable the project to be sustainable and of benefit to young people with potential to develop further in the future.
You will have an understanding and knowledge of Lewisham and young people’s interests and concerns. With enthusiasm and creativity, you will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. If this is you, come and join this exciting pilot project and help make it a success!
