Cultural Food Grant - August 2021
Thanks to a recent fundraising campaign we ran in collaboration with Ordrs, a Lewisham Local business, we have £500 to give away to a food project in Lewisham that wants to adapt their service to provide more culturally relevant and fresh foods.
If you are a local food bank or community food project providing free or low-cost food for people in financial difficulties currently in Lewisham, and would like to develop or pilot a cultural food offer, you can apply for this one-off grant using this form. Please note we only have one grant to give away. The deadline for submissions is 31st August 11.59pm.
Ordrs provides an online platform for people to shop ethically from a range of much-loved local grocery stores. Seeing the increase of people accessing food banks in Lewisham and knowing the amazing diversity of people that exists here, Ordrs were keen to support food banks to develop their cultural food offers. To do this, they approached Lewisham Local who encourage local giving, and have been supporting local food banks and community food projects across Lewisham through the Covid Food Network since the start of the pandemic.
Who can apply?
If you are a local foodbank or community food project providing free or low-cost food for people in financial difficulties currently in Lewisham, and would like to develop a cultural food offer, you can apply for this one-off grant.
How will projects be assessed?
Unfortunately we can only fund one project and we recognise this is a small fund that is not meant to be sustainable funding. The successful application will be the one that can best demonstrate how the money will have the most impact:
- For your project in developing a cultural and fresh food offer
- For your current service users
- For the wider community e.g. sourcing from local suppliers
When is the Deadline?
The deadline for submissions is 31st August 11.59pm.
